BY CAR
You’ll need a car parking ticket to bring your car to the festival – ticket holders can buy car parking tickets online or by telephoning 0870 165 2007. Tickets cost £10 for the weekend.
The best ways to approach the festival site are...
* From London: take the M3 then A303 and A37.
* From the North East: take the A1 or M1, M25 to M3 (Junction 12), then A303 and A37.
* From the Midlands: take the M40 and A34 to A303 and A37.
* From the North West: take the M6, M5 to A39 (Junction 23) then A361.
* From Wales: take the M4, M5 to A39 (Junction 23) then A361
* From the West Country: take the A37 or A361
If you use Sat-nav, the postcode of the west carparks is BA6 8NE; the east carparks is BA4 6TA.
CAR SHARE
Car sharing is recommended, as it reduces the amount of traffic in and out of the festival, along with the impact on the environment. Glastonbury runs its own car sharing scheme at http://www.liftshare.org – it’s free to sign up.
BY COACH
National Express run an excellent service to the festival from major pick-up points around the UK. Pre-booking is required - their website is: http://www.nationalexpress.com/coach/destinations/events/Glastonbury.cfm
BY TRAIN
The nearest railway station to the Glastonbury Festival site is Castle Cary – use http://www.thetrainline.com to book. A shuttle bus service is in operation between the station and the festival site, but you need to be in possession of a festival ticket to use it.
