The Fratellis' T Fire Stunts Vetoed
The band's plans to set fire to large parts of the festival were knocked back. Spoilsports.
Jon Fratelli has revealed that the band's Saturday night slot at T In The Park could have been more spectacular - if "The Man" hadn't got his way.
"We had loads of things that we really wanted to do at T - most of it involving setting fire to stuff," he told The Daily Star. "We had this idea of having two huge flaming Fs at either side of the stage. You could light them and they could just go on fire, but we got told we couldn't do that. I wanted to set fire to Mince's drum kit as well - just throw crude lighter fuel over it and see what happens - but that got vetoed also."
For shame. But why did Jon feel the need to torch his entire band? "Guys have always got a thing about fire," he pondered. "I don't know why - there's a lot of fun to be had with it".
