Glastonbury 2009 Booking Details Announced!
You can put down your £50 deposit soon…
It’s been announced that tickets for Glastonbury 2009 are to go on sale on October 5. In a break with tradition, festival-goers will be able to buy their tickets outright, or reserve them by placing a £50 deposit.
“We have come up with a scheme that will allow people a much longer period to plan and pay for their tickets,” says Michael Eavis in a statement, “while still continuing the battle against ticket touting. By paying as little as £50 up front this year, our registered customers from all over the world will be able to guarantee a ticket for next year's event. At the same time, the very successful registration scheme will ensure that tickets will only go to those named individuals who have reserved them in advance.”
Some of the 2008 Glastonbury attendees have already registered by being part of the process this year, but anyone who hasn’t registered will be able to do so at www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk from September 1. Ticket prices are due to be announced in the next few weeks.
