Opened in 1930 by the actress Margaret Lockwood, the Manchester Apollo was originally built as an ABC Cinema and variety hall. The venue has a tradition of bringing some of the biggest artists of the day to an intimate venue, as well as bringing through developing acts. Always diverse, the Apollo also caters for comedy shows, be they stand-up or larger scale touring productions.
