The Queen of Hoxton ticks many boxes for the cultured Londoner. Bar, club and art collective, it holds court in the heart of the East End with a packed programme of music, performed alongside a rolling gallery of art installations, fringe theatre and screenings. The ground floor feels like a grown up youth club, with mis-matched school chairs and cosy candlelight. Adorning the walls is a blend of window etchings, graffiti and ivy. The venue is also peppered with coloured light bulbs, giving it a somewhat relaxed feel. The downstairs bar and live music area offers the perfect antidote to upstairs, boasting a more grunge-like feel. The Queen’s Brewery provides many of the usual suspect cocktails, along with some unique offerings, such as the divine Don Quilita. If you’re feeling peckish, then be tempted by the Queen's bar snacks. These include Mexican fajitas and butterfly garlic king prawns.
